BCLE2000: Business
Continuity Management
Course Description
BCLE
2000 is designed in compliance with the Professional Practices for
Business Continuity, which defines the boundaries of the
Business
Continuity Planning Profession.
The
course exposes the participants to all aspects of a holistic Business
Continuity Management (BCM) Program so that they can determine the
most appropriate requirements for their organization.
Lessons
are based on each of the following areas of the Professional
Practices:

Project Initiation and Management

Risk Evaluation and Control
3
Business Impact Analysis
4
Developing Business Continuity Management Strategies
5
Emergency Response and Operations
6
Developing and Implementing Business Continuity Plans
7
Awareness and Training Programs
8
Exercising and Maintaining Business Continuity Plans
9
Crisis Communications
10
Co-ordination with External Agencies
Upon
Completion of the course, participants will possess a thorough
understanding of the details that must be addressed in the
development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of a
comprehensive Business Continuity Management Program. Participants
will also be prepared to take the Qualifying Examination on the final
day.
The
target audience for BCLE2000 should include members of the Business
Continuity Development Team, for example, Managers and/or Key Staff
of Lines Business Units as well as Support Services (Technology,
Facilities, Security, Human Resources. Corporate Affairs, Finance,
Internal Audit, etc).
Extensive
additional materials are provided in the Tools & Resources of
this course for student use on-the-job.
Unless
specially noted
per the event, the course traditionally runs from 8:30am - 5:00pm
each day for DAYS 1 thru 5.
The DRI International QUALIFYING
EXAMINATION is scheduled on DAY 6 from 8:30AM - 12:00PM
Registration
for BCLE2000 includes the full course and the DRII Qualifying
Examination.
